When my lovely husband was registering and setting up his new company earlier this year, he briefly put me down as a director before changing his mind for some reason and allocating me an admin post. Today, I did my first piece of work for the company by setting about tidying and organising our dining room, which now doubles up as Iain's primary work space.

I meant it to take a couple of hours in the morning before carrying on with the other Monday chores, but I was rushing to finish off nearer 3pm when I had to leave to pick up the boys from school.

Anyway, I am mighty pleased with my achievements; I have been meaning to organise our bookshelves since we moved here and I filed and thinned our overflowing excesses of paperwork enough in order to create two spare shelves which can be dedicated to the company.

My lovely husband was pretty pleased with my work too, although he did consider my suggested day rate to be too high and opted to pay me by making a cup of tea instead. It is just as well I have job satisfaction!
