Our Los Angeles family arrives tomorrow for Thanksgiving. #1 Daughter's sons and #1 Son's daughters (I loved writing that!) are all close in age and still enjoy each other's company despite the fact that two of them are now teen-agers!

It was raining this morning and I still haven't found my rain jacket, so Ozzie and I made a quick trip down the driveway for the newspaper, and up the road to the creek. These mushrooms were growing all over a log underneath the oak trees, and were quite spectacular looking, so we went back this afternoon (still raining) with the camera.

The rest of the day has been spent emptying boxes and rearranging the furniture. #1 Daughter seems to have her most creative ideas in the middle of the night and arrives at my back door after her morning run to carry them out. The office which OilMan and I plan to share is one of the biggest rooms in the house and has furniture designed to be flexible and really isn't. #1 and I rearranged it yet again, and I feel that we are zeroing in on the final solution. (I use the term "we" loosely when it comes to rearranging furniture. SHE moves the furniture while I direct operations from my rolling desk chair!)

Dungeness crab season opened a few days ago, after the annual negotiations haggling over the price. The season always opens right around Thanksgiving but the crab fishermen won't put out to sea until a price has been agreed upon. This often takes a long time and many families whose tradition it is to have a crab feast on the eve of Thanksgiving are disappointed. Not this year though-- OilMan has arrived bearing two for our dinner--a feast for two!
