Jacaranda streetscape
Back on November 17th I blipped a closeup of a branch of Jacaranda blossom. This year the Jacarandas in Adelaide are looking their best in many years, and well worth a second look.
This time I have chosen a streetscape view of a street that we visited virtually every day from 1987 when we opened an office there, till 2010 when we left this lovely area. The street is Halifax Street in the CBD with this view looking west.
The brilliant purple-blue blooms of these Jacaranda mimosifolias will last for about 2 more weeks and then the month of beauty will be over for another year.
This native of South America really flourishes in Australia where they are one of the most popular street trees. They need to be tough and hardy in that they are surrounded by roads and pavements and get little attention. This view looks even better in LARGE.
