Cremation ceremony

We came across this scene as we walked along the beach front. At first I did not realise what was going on and then felt a little uneasy about spectating on such an event. But it was all very open and no attempt to exclude the many passing tourists. There was no great sense of grief or weeping from the relatives and friends of the deceased. It was more like a quiet, dignifed gathering to remember and celebrate the departed.
