Ill-timed gardening

Typically, my new strawberry plants (Malvina, Marshmello) arrived this week in the middle of the snow, so they desperately needed to get into the ground. So I headed down this morning to find the ground still rock hard. I managed to just lift the frozen 3 inches of soil in sheets and stick them in (just temporarily this close together before you helpfully let me know).

It was very grey there, and jsut not that pleasant, so I quickly uncovered another bit of soil and threw in the garlic too.
