Markt, Bruges

The Market Square is is one of two squares that host ( I have to say, rather disappointing) Christmas Markets in Bruges. We walked around what is a beautifully unspoilt city of canals and gabled houses all day in very raw weather, stopping in cafes and finally the De Haalve Maan Brewery for refreshments. It was Tess's birthday and we enjoyed a wonderful meal of mussels and frites in a great restaurant near the hotel in the evening.
