First rainbow trout

I'm pretty happy to have landed this fella less than an hour after we left the hunter's place at 4.30 this morning.

Lake Lyndon is the closest of the high country lakes to Christchurch that you drive to the lakeside edge.

Later the hunter's son guided me through the process of smoking it. He's a master at it. I can confirm the results were sensational :-)

A snooze this afternoon followed by light exercise for hpx. It's fair to say the hunter is fished out but it's too hot to hunt late today as he'd hoped.

A quiet evening on the porch watching the ducks, geese and chooks sounds just fine to me.
