Yesterday's Starters

'Y' is for Yesterday! :-)

Hahahaha!! That's why I could not blip it on Christmas day, I had to have a 'Y' in my title!! Hehehehehe!!

We had a lovely, peaceful and relaxing day with Anrie's family here at our place for Christmas! We decided to do a Braai (BBQ) this year, in stead of the usual cold dishes. The starters were our local Butcher's speciality, called 'Robots' (Traffic Lights), consisting of cherries, rolled in bacon, and skewered in a row, almost resembling a traffic light! Yum-yum!

For the main meal we braaied steak, lamb chops, chicken thighs and boerewors, served with a lovely potato salad and a toss salad, both made by moi, beetroot salad, three bean salad, curied carrot salad, and a pasta salad, with garlic bread on the side.

C served us Malva Pudding with custard and ice cream to which she added Ansa's lovely fruit salad!

Needless to say, everyone of us over indulged big time!! Eisch!!

It was so terribly hot, we almost melted!! Hehehe! We had a refreshing swim after lunch and then it rained!! Woohoo, what a relief, temps dropped significantly!!
