Pretty In Pink

Ah, regional cuisine! Ontario's multiculturalism means we have the best of the world's culinary expertise at our fingertips. We're spoiled for choice: French, Italian, Chinese, Hungarian, Indian, English fish and chips, US Big Macs and whatever else escapes from the world's kitchens. And all within a few minutes' drive.

But here in Georgetown, we've got more. We've got Louanne's Famous Fries, a caravan tastefully converted into a chipwagon, set up in a car park beside the main road out of town. Its speciality, direct from the rocky outpost of Newfoundland, is Newfie Fries, a combination of Dressing (bread, onion, stuffing), Ground Beef, Cheese and Gravy liberally dumped onto a container of steaming hot fries. It's thick, gooey, runny and best eaten with your fingers . . .

And if you don't like that, the Peameal on a Bun is highly recommended . . .
