This sculpture commemorates the soft drink company Thomson Lewis & Co. which was situated on this spot. The sculpture is now located in the forecourt of Moore Wilson's Grocery in College Street, Wellington NZ
It is still possible for the public to draw artesian water, free of charge, from this well.
