Hidden treasures

We dared to take the paneling off the stairs to see what lay beneath....
and lo and behold these beautiful spindles revealed themselves. Unseen for decades, no layers of paint, simple, beautiful.
Panels removed from all the internal doors (as seen bottom of the stairs) have revealed beautiful solid wood original doors, the stain ties in with the spindles. Who in their right mind would cover up such gems but then again, it has preserved them for another generation.
