You've Got Mail

Going with the mail box theme from Friday, and RosInAus's Technicolour Mailbox I thought I'd blip our rather odd mailbox today. It is a leftover from the previous owners which I hated at first, but it has grown on me somewhat just because it's unusual. The couple who put it there set it in concrete and wrote their initials and the date in it, we bought the house from their children after they had both passed, so it just seems a shame to remove it....and so it remains and every once in a while I'll look down and say Hi to them when Im out checking the mail :0)

The oil derrick is a pretty common sight in this area and Im guessing these people had some connection to the industry to have had this made.
