Chateau de la Fontaine
We had a marvelous friend who owned this castle. Patrick de S., of Russian origin. He was intelligent and humble, talented and generous, a scientist as well as a pianist and a great cook. We hired rooms at his place for our guests when we got married. He invited our daughter Marguerite for her 10th birthday and cooked for her the most delicious Russian meal I ever had. We attended many classical concerts in the orangery that he had transformed into a little concert hall. I even had a top secret 50th birthday party organized there by my husband.
He died suddenly in August 2012 of a heart attack, leaving us stunned.
The castle is for sale now.
I love this photo cause at the minute I stood there, the sunset lit up the building and there was a glow through the windows. Like a little hello.
