A little colour in the gloom
After the fabulous blueness of yesterday, it couldn't have been more grey today so I've not strayed far. I used the indoor time well and managed to catch up a little bit more on Flickr comments and am hoping to feel guilt free very soon!
I had a scooby round the back yard to see if I could get some raindrop photos, all the while keeping a keen eye out for Basil who I'd seen lurking about earlier. I photographed branches with raindrops on, moss with raindrops on and heather with raindrops on. We don't have the sort of garden which has proper flowers so I nipped to the shop to buy a bunch, thinking it might give me something different to play with over a few days if it remains manky out. The choice was limited to say the least.
There was one small rose in my bunch so thought I'd have a go at photographing that - I'm not sure I've seriously photographed a rose before. I put the bunch in some natural light... well what there was of it today... and used a reflector to bounce a little of that feeble light back at the rose head.
I had a go later using my speedlight and led light but found I was faffing too much and started to get fed up with not getting a result - I think it's about time I read my Light Science and Magic book - something that's been on the 'to do' list for a year!
The great thing about photography is there's always something more to learn, it may be frustrating, but never boring... unlike the ironing which is next on my list!
