What's through the rectangular door?
I don't know whether you have read 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett, or maybe you've seen the film, but this gate reminded me of it. It is a lovely old gate, if slightly neglected, and it leads up some uneven brick steps and through into what appears to be a wonderful walled garden. Sadly, unless I was to climb a ladder, there is no way to see what is in the garden, so you'll have to use your own imaginations.
I was in two minds about whether this should be in black and white since the book was published in 1909, but in the end I went for the sunlit version (can't afford to waste a sunny day, after all). You can see the black and white version here. Which do you prefer?
