Ice
Fox Glacier looking at the crevasses in the ice as it falls over the rock lip. In the top left corner are people walking on the ice. Gives it a sense of scale. The glacier is 13 km long and has retreated several kilometres since 1750. Glacier ice on the surface is dirty with moraine but in the depths of the crevasses it is a true 'glacial blue'. It has cut a deep valley whose floor is covered in rocks through which the meltwater river flows. This is milky green from the glacial rock flour it carries. Some of the cliffs it has left are awesome.
