Evening Rays

Another gorgeous clear and sunny day beckoned us out for another walk, this time farther afield to the Fife Coastal Walk, from Inverkeithing as far as the Dalgety Bay Sailing Club.
Although we had scrambled along muddy tracks, tarmac path and across rocky foreshore, at this point it is advisable to stick to the main path as there are still warnings of the presence of radioactive contamination in the bay.

We returned over much the same route, passing the glorious Donibristle House, (which we nicknamed Villa Carlotta) with its Italianate wrought iron waterfront and the ruin of the C18 Mausoleum of the Earls of Moray.

Somewhat overdressed and overheated by such exertions we took refreshment in the Queensferry Hotel, overlooking the Forth Road Bridge and the construction of the New Bridge. While we watched the shafts of sunlight piercing the cloud a Royal Navy ship, with its pilot, glided across the view.

This seemed to sum up the day so, ignoring the many alternative photos, this becomes my blip.
