Polner Dam Inverurie

Once used as a private water supply to Inverurie Loco Works this local landmark has fallen into disuse and is now used as a dump for old mattresses and arm chairs.
It's strange why folk would feel the need to chuck rubbish into such a beautiful place though since there is a perfectly good local recycling facility just a mile or so away.
I wonder if it was used by the Dambusters during practice missions over Scotland?
