Celebrating 200 blips with chocolates
To celebrate my 200th blip today with chocolates, I have chosen a South Australian icon company, Haigh's Chocolates as my blip of the day. See their full story below.
Even clearer in large.
I seems like it was only yesterday when I clocked up my 100th blip. Along the course of this wonderful journey (very short by many blipping standards) I have made some wonderful friendships around the world.
I now see many more things through my blip eyes and it has definitely become part of who I am. Finally I want to say a huge thanks to all the many people (now friends) who have made comments on my 200 blips.
Getting to know many of you, especially through blipmeets in New Zealand, has made it an amazing experience.
The Haigh's Chocolates Story - A South Australian Icon.
It was May 1915, when Alfred E Haigh opened the doors of the very first Haigh's Chocolates store in King William Street, Adelaide. Alfred began adding his own flavour to the industry and in 1917 he started producing his own chocolate. That was 98 years ago.
The company is presently run by the fourth generation Haigh family. They are one of only a few specialist chocolate manufacturing retailers in the world making premium chocolate from the imported raw cocoa bean. Haigh's have their own stores in 3 states of Australia and are internationally recognised for their quality. I know they are also available in UK.
They are the oldest family-owned chocolate manufacturing retailer in Australia. Paladian and I are long term regular customers making this a perfect subject for my 200th blip today!
