Watendlath
Final day of photography in the Lake District today. We visited the hamlet and tarn of Watendlath which is owned by the National Trust and sits high between the Borrowdale and Thirlmere valleys at 863 feet above sea level. As well as photographing the tarn and surrounding landscape the farm buildings in the hamlet were also interesting subjects. This black and white image of one of the farm buildings shows the traditional white paint around the doorway to enable it to be seen by moonlight - probably by farm-workers returning from the local hostelry!
