Up the line...
The Rangiora Railway Station closed in 1988 and has been home to a garden centre and is currently operated as a cafe. The Coastal Pacific, Christchurch to Picton passenger train service, passes through twice daily and will stop when required and several freight trains pass through on a regular basis. This is looking north, up the line, with a view of Mount Grey in the distance.
I had the pleasure of enjoying a coffee and chat with kiwilizzie and TeeJay today, it was supposed to be a breakfast date but the Blue Rooster no longer does Sunday breakfast, I was disappointed and a little embarrassed. Ladies I have since discovered the Station cafe above does brunch, menu on-line and it was busy - next time eh! It was lovely to see you both :)
And if anyone else is passing through keep this in mind - I really do wish eating places and other businesses kept their websites up to date! It shouldn't be necessary to phone for times and days, this is the second time I've been caught out in the last week or so, a little frustrating - rant over!
If anyone is interested there is a backblip for yesterday. Today was a warm summer day, bright blue sky with a gentle breeze, some time with two special blippers - my kind of day :)
