new under painting!

What a difference a good nights sleep makes...i feel like a new woman today!

And the sun is shining....and i've just started the next version of this image! Previously i've been doing sketches really, just on pastel paper...but i'm now doing one that is a bit bigger and i'm using the really wonderful sanded pastel paper...that's what the big guys use!!! It feels so much more substantial and grabs the pastels in such a marvelous way!
I am feeling so much more confident - but not in a 'look at me' way, more in a 'i'm not afraid of the blank paper' feeling! it's a huge step, to feel like i've actually digested and sort of understood the lessons i've been practicing! so here it is....the beginning !

We've got an interesting situation to deal with! the fridge in one of the cabins has died!!! thank god it's winter cos the folks in there can use a cooler etc to keep their food from rotting! so Terry will head up to Sydney today, buy a new fridge, and in the next couple of days we'll have to remove the old one and install the new one! Thank god Lynne's arriving tomorrow....2 strong women and Terry should be able to tackle this job! They are more awkward than heavy really...but perhaps it's better that we have all this snow....we can put it on a sled and drag it!!!

Off to empty the back of the truck - while the underpainting dries!
