As one door closes...
Others are supposed to open, right?
What, no pun? Nope. Just an overused (albeit applicable) metaphor, instead...
Walking past this doorway (in a mild snowstorm) it seemed the only logical place to take shelter to figure out exactly where we were going, and if we were heading in the right direction. Oooh, quite a parallel to real life, how deep and brooding. No, not really; but it did make me think.
A lot of opportunities are now unavailable due to choices being made. Important decisions with real consequences, but it's impossible to know which choice is the right one until afterwards. Not knowing is incredibly painful, but I guess that's part of the fun of it all, really. The kind of decisions where the rest of your life may change. It's easy to get distracted and miss out on what's happening now, like walking to get coffee with Andy & Tracey and Jasmin.
So much thinking and so little work getting done...
TLDR; Typical 20-something year old angst; seriously tasty coffee drunk; no work done
Peace

Another simplistic and minimalist capture. Placing the door in almost the center of the frame creates nice symmetry, I think. The slow shutter speed creating motion blur on the snowflakes emphasises the cover provided by the doorframe (maybe, I could just be making stuff up, now) too.
The spree of black and white, recently, is a result of my book from Eve. It talks about how removing all colour from a photo takes away a level from the viewer, with which they can relate to the photograph. As a result, subject matter, tone and composition become more prevalent and important (I promise it's not as 'hipster' and 'waffle-y' as it sounds). As those are the things I'm working on in my photography at the moment, expect a lot more B&W over the next few days.
