Pouring concrete
The building work on the new science block at school continues. They have now nearly finished preparing the piles. This involves drilling 17 metre deep holes through the London clay and underlying chalk, then filling them with concrete, reinforced in the top few metres with iron bars. This picture shows the concrete being poured from the lorry.
17 metres is a deep hole, requiring a very large drill bit. But that is nothing compared with the 100 metre holes being drilled for the heat exchange system which I don't yet fully understand. But the drill rig for these is impressive!
EDIT: Just realised that this is my 100th entry. I think I can safely say this has become a habit.
