yes, we have some bananas!

we have some bananas today! LARGE

These bananas are growing right next to our utility shed along the sea wall and dock . . . on the Braden River in Florida. I was quite surprised to find them growing even though I knew before the fruit appeared that they were banana plants. If you look closely in large, you'll find a bee drinking some nectar.

I think the flower spike or inflorescence is so pretty and unusual. I have never grown banana trees before, but my friend and garden expert Ann Hall tells me they like water. I think I will read up on how to grow bananas!
