Growing again

After the fire the September before last - which I blipped here - there are still many blackened branches and tree trunks but new growth is appearing around them, the plants are regenerating themselves, replacing the losses. This lentisc bush (Pistacia lentiscus) has bright green, red-edged leaves growing amongst the burnt remains of the summer before last. This plant produces an aromatic resin, or mastic, which used to be used as chewing gum.
