The new "Horseshoe House"

This newbuild replaces a 1960s or 70s dwelling on the same site at the junction of Groby Road and Devisdale Road in Bowdon, Altrincham. It's been built in the "white brick" that the 7th Earl of Stamford specified when he started selling off parcels of the Dunham Massey estate for development in the late C19. This area boasts some very grand mansions, most of which have now been converted into apartments, that were owned by wealthy mill owners, the "Cottontots" of Manchester.
