Inverness fire station this evening. They had the lights over their sign fitted just a few weeks ago.
First rain in a quite while today. Took the car, and had an early morning swim. Just got into work, when the fire alarm went off. So back outside for about twenty-five minutes (much longer than usual) in said rain. There were a few folk looking like drowned rats after that!
Second plasma TV/monitor sorted, thankfully. Hopefully the IT folk will remove them soon, as having two of these 50 inch beasts lying about, takes up a lot of space!
Techie stuff: Tripod used for this, in order to use the base ISO for this camera (it's a fairly noise prone sensor at higher ISO values). Small aperture, and long exposure, hence the blurred flags. Could have used f/8, or f/5.6 instead (adjusting the shutter speed accordingly) at this distance, as there's no great need for depth of field. But was also playing about with car light trails that passed by, so wanted the longer exposure.
Editing: Boosted the shadow areas slightly; and played about with the White Balance a bit, to find a compromise I liked between the outside sign lighting/inside lighting/and the sky. Primarily trying to make the sign lighting appear white.
