Blushing rainbow snowclouds
I am so glad I popped out of the laser laboratory to check my emails! I saw the golden quality of the light and knew I had to grab my camera.
The rainbow preceded a very intense but brief snow flurry just at sunset. It was all over in a matter of seconds, so I am very lucky to have been able to capture this shot.
I have since found out from mikeder that this is called thundersnow. Apparently, it's a rare form of weather. I tweeted this shot and the local newspaper want to use it as their pic of the day tomorrow - watch this space! :D
