Back Up Strategies
After our external drive failed last week potentially losing quite a lot of data, we have re-thought our back up strategy. However, we both have different ideas about this and can't agree - perhaps you could help choose?
1) Chris' idea - a two-hard-disc RAID 1 mirrored drive, with 2TB capacity. The mirroring allows the drive to fail and the data to still be accessible. The drive monitors itself and e-mails us if it thinks it has a problem. All our files, including our photos, can be stored on this.
2) Annie's idea - buy a set of 40 wax crayons and reproduce every picture we take in 40 shades of glorious technicolour. Admitably, they're slightly "lossy" and low-res in their data storage but don't they look good?
We've trialled each storage format here on our last four blips for your perusal. What do you think?
