Holi
Today the Nepalese in Pokhara were celebrating Holi, the Hindu festival of colours. In theory they are celebrating the victory of God (Ram, i think) over some bad demon dood. In practice they are running around throwing water and coloured powder over each other! It is a national holiday and is great fun. Many people (mostly the young) were completely covered and had massive smiles. There was some music and dancing, but mostly friendly ambushing of each other with powder and cheery "Happy Holi"s.
I have just deleted my pics from yesterday's bus journey from Kathmandu. Fortunately I only took 3 and they were rubbish! For the record the journey was fine, though we had a few hold ups, including a 4x4 on its roof. We met a lovely Canadian lady who had bought the sand to build a friend a new toilet, they were going to check it out! Once we arrived we chilled out and started to enjoy the holidays with a nice Japanese meal :-P
We are thinking of our Colombian family today as it is a year ago that Abuelita passed away...
