Steve's New Allotment

This is Steve's (my Mum's partner's) new allotment. He has just started work on it , according to his planned layout. The raised beds have just been constructed and are awaiting the manure which should arrive any day. There is a shed (out of view) which has a connected system of water butts. Outside the shed there will be a grassed 'recreational' area (as Steve puts it!) with a seat and overlooking Mum's (yet to be planted) flower beds. Beyond this there will be a greenhouse and at the end of the plot a wildflower garden, and then fruit bushes and trees.

Beyond the plot there is an orchard with chickens, and beyond that a field with a Shetland pony and a Jacob sheep with a lamb. To the side of the plot there is a wild field with various ramshackle outbuildings - a wildlife haven.

According to Steve the allotment is his 10 year project. We are looking forward to enjoying lots of home-grown fruit and vegetables!
