Shooting the shoot
The ABC was at the track today shooting some film for a documentary they are producing about Anna Meares. The focus of the documentary will be on the coach & athlete relationship. I got quite excited about the project after speaking with the producer and camera man today because they are looking for something different to the usual sports doco. They were searching for the unusual and the things not normally shown or seen by the general public. I gave them the full tour and they wanted some suggestions on 'different' scenes and areas that would be visually appealing to help with the feel they were looking for.
Of course I suggested under the track and got some strange looks. 'What is under there?' They asked.
'Nothing.' I said, and got more strange looks and raised eyebrows.
I simply said to the camera guy "You will understand as soon as you see it."
I took them into places no one sees and I pointed out the best bits and they got a bit excited and changed the entire days schedule and re-wrote the opening scenes. Their two hours of shooting time became seven hours and Anna was running late. She needed to do some shopping & cook for a dinner party at her place tonight.
