Sherman Tank

This past weekend the battle to liberate Woensdrecht ( part of the battle of the Schelde) was commemorated. There’s a new film on Netflix ‘The forgotten battle’ which tells part of the story of the battle to liberate the Antwerp harbour for the Allied Forces in 1944.This Canadian Sherman Tank is placed as a war monument in our neighbourhood and on the estate where we live the streets are named after the Canadian forces who fought so hard with such a terrible loss of lives to free this part of The Netherlands.
