Snow and Bark

Got up to a blanket of snow this morning - it looked beautiful along with the blue sky. As the day has gone on the snow has, largely but not completely, melted. I can't actually think when we last had a day without snow (not that it lies every time). We've had a mixture of very dark clouds and blue sky throughout the day - at the moment the sun is shining and sitting here in the house it feels just like spring!

Took a few photos around the garden - did think about going further afield to try out my new tripod - but decided the garden was far enough. I was taken by the bit of snow settled on one of the cherry trees (this was after the sun had melted a lot of it away) and the texture of the bark.
