The Panoptican
Tired from the last two day's 'socialising' , LH took some persuading to venture outdoors, but RH wanted to go and see the Britannia Panopticon and being a bit of a history buff, LH took little persuading.
What a hidden gem. The Worlds Oldest Surviving Music Hall is hidden away at the East End of Argyle Street and was recently rediscovered, heavily run down and derelict having become a warehouse and storeroom. Being slowly and lovingly restored, LHRH went with some friends to see a number of silent movies. These were great, the pick of which was a frenchman eating bull meat, growing horns and repeatedly attacking the people of Paris. He wa sonly stopped when 8 matadors were called in from Spain to catch him. And all this madness from 1907!
The building has a leaky roof and no heating, but we made it!
This is a great place and really cheered LH up. We'll be back!
