Vireo cassinii

Look at the little vireo!

I found a pair of Cassin's Vireos in a pine tree this morning when they started mobbing a Steller's Jay they apparently didn't like. This species is new for me this year and it is lovely.

I have seen few vireos in my life, which perhaps enhances my interest in them. They are generally harder birds to find, and they have some of the most striking songs among the songbirds.
