Glorious Day!

This morning my two oldest "babies" and I joined a group of expat girlfriends at a shower* for our friend, Sing. She and her husband are expecting their first-born in less than a month. And clearly, they're expecting him to be a boy :) With two boys of my own, I can confirm this much:

Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.

They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought home more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

And then this afternoon, the sun came out and blessed us with splendid warmth! What more could we ask for on a Sunday in April?

*for those in cultures who don't share this custom, a "baby shower" is traditionally a party where an expectant Mom is "showered" with gifts she will need to welcome her new born. Often along with the many gifts, there's a sharing of stories and advice for the soon-to-be parents.
