Today was the most fun I've had in ages and also the worst day of my life (which maybe sounds a bit dramatic given that everything is okay now). Thai New Year has everyone out on the streets throwing water on each other, be it buckets chucked over people driving past on motorbikes or water pistol fights like no other. EVERYONE is soaked and it never gets old seeing someone gasp and laugh as they're hit with water. A friend of a friend, who lives in Phuket, picked us up and took us to a great spot to catch the action. My camera (or rather lens) stopped working immediately and I missed loads of photo opportunities before I realised I could still take photos at the lens' widest setting, but I could no longer use the zoom.
Half the day, however, was spent in hospital because Joni had a fall and needed stitches in two places on her head. She's okay now and it was nothing serious, it was just a pretty awful couple of hours trying to get to a hospital in all the chaos.
