Antler pick

This is a broken and re-worked piece of Red Deer antler that I picked up in an archaeological site near my home. There is an Iron Age midden (rubbish dump) hidden in the costal sands, and every so often a gem gets uncovered. This goes back over a 1000 years and you can clearly see where the antler has been used as a pick or a hoe to break the earth. (With a pound coin for scale) It now sits on our mantelpiece.
