Goldfinch in the rain

Absolutely bucketing down, complete with thunder and wind, and saw this little bird feeding on my sunflower - very pleased as we used to have goldfinches around and haven't had any since the earthquakes, though why not I don't know.

He was eating so fast he didn't notice me, which is unusual for goldfinches - mind you I was getting extremely wet so maybe he thought no one would be silly enough to be out.

In large he has a droplet on his beak and his feathers are soaked so no wonder he was hungry.
