Old Suspension Bridge, Inchgarth, Aberdeen
The so-called Shakkin' Briggie - "Built by the Minister of St. Devenick's Kirk on the S. side of the Dee to allow worshippers to get from Cults on the N. side of the river" but "Now in disrepair and unpassable" - seen against a blue afternoon sky.
The story of its construction by the beneficent Rev. Dr. George Morison (1758 - 1845), at a cost of £1,400, is told here.
