Up the Blorenge in arctic May!
Today, Abergavenny Walking for Health group took minibuses up the Blorenge Mountain to the Foxhunter* carpark and walked from there. Most people are swaddled up as if in Arctic conditions, in spite of it being May and the sun shining, and not without reason, for the wind was fierce and bitter. But what a change from yesterday, when it rained solidly all day!
[*Foxhunter was a champion show jumping horse, ridden by Harry Llewellyn, who died in 1959 and is buried just by the carpark up on the Blorenge. When he died, Sir Harry's ashes were scattered nearby.]
