Off to see the Queen!

This morning the sun was shining brightly so I got up early for my morning walk and trotted around town to see what was happening.

The town was a hive of activity. The barriers were going up, there were road closures in place and there were zillions of police and official looking people milling about.

I had a massive poo right outside the Tate Gallery. Obviously Ann being a responsible dog owner picked it up, but then discovered that all the bins had been removed. Apparently that's in case someone plants a bomb in them?? Ann was a bit grumpy. She said, 'I bet the Queen doesn't have to walk for miles & miles carrying corgi poo!' However there were marksmen on the Tate roof and she didn't want to get shot at for not picking up!!!!

Next we went along the Wharf and met a spaniel sniffing around in the Lifeboat station. I wanted to play with him but he seemed very focused on what he was doing. Looking for bombs I guess??

When we got home we changed into our 'patriotic' gear. ...................And then do you know what happened?? Ann said, 'Molly you must guard the house this morning, I'm off out to see the Queen but you won't like it because it will be too crowded for you'. Honestly! Just what is the point of wearing my Union Jack bandana if the Queen is not going to see me in it?

Soooooo.............. I had to stay home alone while Ann went out with her friends, and the thousands of other people, who had come to St Ives to see the Queen. She waved flags, took photographs and generally had a nice time in the sunshine. The weather was absolutely perfect for a royal visit and everyone had a great time.

Hope the Queen enjoyed her first visit to St Ives too.

You can see more photos of today's events on the STAR facebook page.

PS By the time I went on my afternoon walk it was pouring with rain!!!!
