Wadi Rum
We went to Wadi Rum and were driven around some of the touristy highlights by our guide, Ahmed. It really is an amazing place.
We stayed with Ahmed's family, who are real Bedouin, ate mensaf, met some of the animals (kitten, kit, and kid), and slept under the stars.
The photo is of the oldest son, D'vallah, who is a member of the Shurtat al-Badiya, who patrol the Saudi - Jordan border, as well as working as a guide himself. He played the rababa for us.
I was looking forward to riding the camels in the morning, today, but the sun was so hot (it was fortunately quite cloudy on Friday when we spent the day in the desert), and the camels looked so sad, that we gave it a miss.
