Between fen and mountains

Via Domitia

We were in Narbonne this morning, wandering around and enjoying the indoor market, Les Halles, which won the award for the best market in France in 2022. The photo is of a small section of the first Roman road built in Gaul. We gave the new Roman Museum a miss preferring to just absorb the delights of a southern French city before moving on for lunch at Le Somail, a junction of the Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. The tourist office had a good film, explaining its construction and importance.
