Bonifacio Shrine
Andres Bonifacio y de Castro (November 30, 1863 - May 10, 1897), son of Santiago Bonifacio and Catalina de Castro, was a Filipino revolutionary leader and one of the main rebel leaders of the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial rule in the late 19th century. He is regarded as the "Father of the Philippine Revolution"; and one of the most influential national heroes of my home country. A freemason, Bonifacio was the founder of the Katipunan organization which aimed to start an independence movement against Spain.
The red flag with KKK, is the very first flag to symbolize Filipino Revolution, and the flag on the right is the current symbol of our freedom..
This monument is designed and made by famed Philippine sculptor Eduardo Castrillo.
Yey! Finally home!!! And what was the first thing I did, well after depositing luggages at home -- went straight to get this shot! Haha!! While taking photos near our City Hall, my visual sense was overwhelmed by a lot of scenarios here that are oh so blippable.. Eye-openers if you want to call it.. And here's a few
Poor Unfortunate Soul - a little girl, stark naked, left to fend for her own while her mother works along the streets as well
Vendors -- a couple trying to make honest money
the Dumbfounded - a lady who just sat there with blank stares on her unfocused eyes..
Jet lag is taking over now, time difference was so great, and after 20 hours of travel, I think I'm quite ready for bed.. Replies and comments may have been sparse only because of the flight and the everything it entailed.. Please bear with me as I'll soon get back to you all
Hugs and kisses to everyone! Have a great long bank holiday weekend!
