The roadworks on the Kessock bridge are progressing. After removing the tarmac, the steel decking has all been welded (cracks, holes etc); blasted with grit; and had several spray coatings applied - hence the red colour. Well this end of the bridge's North going carriageway has been done. They haven't finished the other end. The South going carriageway will be done next year.
According to one of my work colleagues, they're weeks behind schedule. Then again, he was the one trying to convince me about some six foot (1800mm) high barrier being but up at the edge of the bridge. In reality it looks to be barely six inches (150mm) higher than here.
No signs of the tarmac replacement yet. So the original date for completion, by the middle of June, is looking a little unlikely...
On the far (South) side of the bridge, to the left, is Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club's ground/stadium. The building to the right of the bridge is New Century House, as detailed on an earlier Blip.
