We have had a wonderful day!

This morning we woke to a thick mist blanketing the landscape which was an interesting change.

During breakfast we logged into blip (aren't we dedicated!) and there was an invitation to a blipmeet. So, today we have been to visit Poppy, her husband the postie, and Ollie the Bearded Collie. Apothecary7 and I had a lovely time visiting, and we had the bonus of a clifftop walk with Poppy and Ollie. On our return to their shoreline village we visited some old boat remains on the shore.

Having endured the Orcadian weather through the years these sturdy boat ribs were my shot of the day. They have great shapes and character.

On our way back through Kirkwall, and while walking towards Tesco who should we spy just leaving in their car but my distant relations who we are going to visit on Hoy tomorrow. A quick hello through the car window was all we had time for as they queued for the car park exit. Now we are looking forward even more to meeting them on Hoy tomorrow !
