What's Up, Tiger Lily?

Egg salad anyone? Sorry, I just had to. Probably that was a confusing introduction if you never saw the Woody Allen movie of the same name as my title.
Anyway, this tiger lily is from my garden around the pool. It was threatening to storm outside but it was not yet raining. I had started dinner and did not want to lose the chance to take an outside picture. I walked across the lawn and was immediately drawn the color of these tiger lily. This is a super good year for them. I have them in a narrow garden along one side of the pool in between the pool and the fence. During this past week, the entire garden is bursting with lilies.
I love when you do not have a clue what to blip and then you spot something great and within minutes, you have it. I knew just looking through the lens of the camera that this was it. I liked the contrast of the bright colored lily against the dark lines of the fence with the blue water of the pool in the background.
It was very warm and humid today. The sun was strong and the plants that I have in pots all felt dry so I spent a good 30 minutes watering everything and then it stormed. Ugh! With this kind of weather thunderstorms pop up without much warning. It is a hit or miss kind of thing so you cannot really depend on it for your plants. My son lives a bit northwest of us and he posted a video on Instagram of quarter size hail bouncing off his porch this afternoon. I guess I should be happy we just got rain
